As of April 22, 2021, the senate (by a vote of 94-1) has approved an anti-asian hate crime bill. Its goal is to provide more protection to America’s large community of Asian-American and Pacific Islanders.

This bill will provide incentive for law enforcement to keep a better track of hate crimes and create hotlines for those affected.

The attorney general will also be required to appoint a Department of Justice official to review hate crime reports for law enforcement across the country. The attorney general will also have the job of spreading awareness for these hate crimes.

  • $200 billion would go to providing universal preschool for three and four year olds
  • $109 billion would go to support up to two free years of community college; this money would also be used to make college more affordable for low-income and middle-income students- especially those at primarily minority populated schools

Taxes of the very wealthy (top 1%) would be raised from 39.6% to 37% to help fund Biden’s plan.
