Eyes beginning to water, Mr. Aaron Hare, A french teacher at Dallastown Area High school tells his students that he will be saying goodbye to them on April 17.
Hare is making his way to Yorktown, Virginia. He will continue to teach French classes such as French one all the way to AP.
He is more of a city guy, so this move is a great fit for him.
“I’m looking forward to a new way of living,” Hare said.
Although there are aspects he’s excited for, leaving Dallastown was extremely emotional for him, his students, and all of his colleagues.
Not only is Hare a teacher, he is very involved in Mini-THON and was the head coach of the girls tennis team.
“Coaching the girls tennis team has been one of the best experiences of my whole life,” Hare said.
Because Hare is a French teacher, he is neighbors with multiple Spanish teachers. Little did Mr Hare know that these two teachers would become his best friends.
When someone thinks about their colleagues their mind probably doesn’t go straight to comparing them to family, but for Hare it did.

Not only was he a close friend to Sra. Herman but she says,
“It feels like he’s family now. My kids call him “Uncle Aaron.”
The two friends had so many memories together, but one that really stuck was going to the Taylor Swift Eras Tour together.
Herman says just seeing Hares reaction to Taylor rising up was classic.
He most definitely had a big personality and he made sure to express it with his friends and students.
Sr. Pomeraning expresses that she also was super close to Mr Hare, and definitely considered him as one of her best friends.
It’s easy to tell that he is a likeable teacher and friend.
His students, Audrey Guerrini, Camryn Strouse, and DeAnna Bellomo describe him as welcoming, outgoing, radiant and lighthearted.
These adjectives are definitely not ones someone would use to describe someone who has a boring personality. That’s why he is said to have made his mark during his time teaching.
Hare loves to travel. One of his best memories at Dallastown was getting to travel to Paris with his students and colleagues.
Hare not only loves going on these trips but he likes to see his students apply themselves. “Seeing them experience French culture firsthand means so much to me,” he said.

He earned many compliments on his style of teaching from not only other teachers around him but also his students.
“He utilizes everyone’s talents to create an incredibly special classroom atmosphere and learning environment,” Bellomo said.
Many thought that Hare went to Dallastown himself just because of how much he accepts and represents the Dallastown spirit.
Clearly Dallastown was more than just a place where he taught.
“I’ll miss the tight knit Dallastown community,” Hare said.
The colleagues, the students, and the atmosphere all meant so much more to him then just a workplace.
He considered the people at Dallastown his family, and when a family member moves away they are most definitely not forgotten.
