Stepping into Hamir’s Indian Fusion, I am hit with an abundance of amazing smells and a friendly staff. My family and I are taken to our table and we absorb the restaurant’s welcoming atmosphere.

This small restaurant on George Street is a place I had never heard of before, but now I know what a gem it really is. From delicious food to an extremely kind staff, I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience.

When the waitress first introduced herself to us, she asked if we had been there before. We told her no, so she brought out three free samples of curry so we could get a feel for what we might like.

This advanced the dining experience because it showed me that they care about their customers enjoying the food.

We ordered the appetizer sampler, which comes with Brussels sprouts, two crab puris, and one samosa. Each appetizer was very delicious, my favorite was the Brussels sprouts, which are tossed in chat masala and drizzled with lemon and a mango soy reduction.

For dinner, there are many different curries to choose from, each coming with rice, half naan, and your choice of protein. You can also choose the spice level of your curry on a scale from one to five.

I love the amount of control you have over your dish because some people hate spice, while others love it. I tried

levels one, two, and four, and I would compare level four to the heat of a jalapeno.

I ordered the thali as my dinner, and this is described as “a way to explore the menu. Stainless steel platter sampling a variety of Chef’s daily selections.”

The thali included a samosa, six different types of curry, and gulab jamun for dessert. All of the food was delicious, my favorite was the vindaloo curry.

My favorite part of the dinner was when Chef Hamir came out and spoke to every guest. He asked if we enjoyed the food and showed interest in this article.

For dessert, we ordered the soan cake and the Chocolate Trilogy. The soan cake is a traditional Indian flaky cake, and I had never had anything like it before. It was delicious!

The Chocolate Trilogy is chocolate genoise with chocolate mousse. This was a group favorite; the flavors went together so well, and it wasn’t too sweet.

Overall, I enjoyed every aspect of Hamir’s Indian Fusion. The food was delectable and rich in flavor.

The staff treated every person in the building with such kindness. They were super friendly and I enjoyed each conversation.

It surprised me that Chef Hamir speaks to every person dining to get their feedback. This isn’t something that happens in every restaurant.

If you ever have trouble deciding on a restaurant, I highly recommend trying Hamir’s Indian Fusion!
