Brian Kauffman- Boy’s Volleyball
Now entering his 34 year coaching volleyball and starting his second season with Dallastown, Kauffman is the head coach of the Boy’s volleyball team. Kauffman played volleyball for Central and continued in college on Penn State’s Club team.
Coaching alongside him this year are assistant coaches Drew Blecher, Ben Terrosso, Julio Vargas, and Mike Darr. Together, the coaches try to push the mentality to work hard, play hard, and have fun winning. For Kauffman, his favorite part of coaching is seeing the players fall in love with the sport and enjoying themselves.
As stated, Kauffman’s first season at Dallastown only lasted a few weeks before COVID shut down the schools in March 2020. “It was very depressing,” Kauffman described. “It was my first season, and we had a young team with a lot of promise. Losing that year was difficult because we now have eight seniors and only three players with varsity playing experience. We have a lot of ground to make up for with very little time to do it.”
This season, Kauffman and his team have goals of advancing to county, district, and state competitions while playing to the best of their ability.
