Shows of the Year
To kick off the year the York fair brings rides, games, and great entertainment.
Although many attend the York Fair each year for the food and games, the 2018 York Fair shows had it all.
An oldie but goodie Alice Cooper was the first group to perform on Friday September 7th.
A little rain wasn’t going to stop the show. Dallastown junior Leah Fleagle stated, “I enjoyed the story on stage and in the music. It was creepy, and I loved it.”
Going to see the comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias was a surprise to DHS Senior Jeremy Gray. Iglesias hit all the marks with his one of a kind jokes.
This time not just a little rain but a complete downpour still wasn’t stopping the show.
American Idol made an appearance with a live performance from Jurnee, Michael, Gabby, Maddie, Catie, Caleb, and Cade.
They had a guest performance by the season 8 winner Kris Allen.
Another DHS Senior to attend a show, Nautica Shortlidge stated, “September 12th was a night to remember. I got to meet very inspiring people that have inspired me to go for my dream and audition for American Idol.”
Emery who was a 2017 winner said to Nautica, “Although it’s a long, hard process I believe that you could be the next American Idol winner.”
An all-male band from Australia, 5 Seconds of Summer, made a stop at the York Fair as part of their world tour.
For their world tour they are promoting their new album Meet You There.
In a concert filled with hundreds of screaming teens some parents made the ultimate sacrifice to attend the concert with their kids.
6o year old Alexa Croasmun, a parent to a Dallastown Junior says, “This is what grandmas do for their granddaughters, take them to concerts when their friends don’t like the band.”
Two bands that also performed during the one week of the York fair were Mercy Me, and Old Dominion.
On the final day, Saturday September 14th, for the third year in a row, the Monster Truck Fall bash took place.
Some of the people who happened to show up early were able to take a ride in a real-life Monster Truck.
One of the big highlights was the monster truck the Stinger making an attempt to doing a backflip.
Despite the weather, the 2018 York Fair concerts still went off without a hitch.
