Keeping up with the Krazy Kardashians
The fashion famous family recently ended their 20 season reality show just to start a new show, with a new name, and a new purpose.
The Kardashians’ with all of their household “K” names, are one of the most famous families in the United States, and maybe all over the world.
Recently, the family began a new reality show entitled, “The Kardashians” on Hulu.
Sound familiar? It should because it hasn’t been long since they ended their 20-year long show “Keeping up with the Kardashians.” The program was televised from the cable channel E! and could be watched on Hulu and the free streaming service, Peacock.
So why would they want to end it? And why start a one?
The three Kardashian sisters and Kris Jenner did an interview with Variety about the new show and the reasons they left their old one. When asked why they decided to end the show, the popular answer was, “I think that we were all ready to move on to something else,” oldest sister, Kourtney said.
Move on from one show to the next. Did they really “move on” or are they just recycling old memories and putting a new name on it? Well, during the interview the sisters were consistent on the fact that the new show will let the viewers see a new perspective on their daily lives.
New seems to be a growing theme with them. So what else is new?
In the first few seconds the viewers see a drone view of Calabasas with upbeat music to match the mode. It then goes to Kourtney Kardashian with her three kids and new boyfriend, Travis Barker, in the playground like backyard.
Following that is the youngest Kardashian girl, Khloe in her newly constructed home. As the drone flies through the new house it goes straight to Kendall Jenner in her fashion forward house with her in the backyard.
The drone then takes the viewers to the iconic office of “Kylie Cosmetics” where it pans into the “momager” herself, Kris Jenner. And of course Kylie Jenner is seen behind the action of a photo shoot for one of her many Kylie companies.
Last but certainly not least is Kim Kardashian West who is shown in the office of her company “SKIMS”, then pulling out in a sweet and luxurious ride.
In the first few seconds of the show there seems to be a different vibe.
In “Keeping up with the Kardashians”, the introduction in the beginning was mostly about showing off their money with their designer clothes and cars. But it seems more upbeat and fun rather than serious and showing off.
One of the differences that I didn’t notice before was that the episodes weren’t recent and timely. They could shoot an event and then it would premier many months later.
“We wanted it to be as current as possible. We hated how long we had to wait. That was like the death of us, because once we got over something, we had to rehash it all over again.” Kim stated in her interview with Variety.
KUWTK seemed less like a reality show and more like a show that has no script but you can tell that it was planned in everything they do. They are always filmed in groups with specific times they need to meet and where. Some of the scenes are just them sitting in their million dollar house talking about how busy their lives are.
In their new show it seems less structured, but for the better and to make it seem like that is really their reality.
“And the producers definitely knew what the E! audience wanted. And this feels a little bit more documentary-style.” Kim stated about the difference between E! and Hulu.
To conclude I definitely recommend watching this new series on the rich and glamorous family, and to form your own opinion about what you think about it. Definitely watch KUWTK to compare the two and see what you like better!
