Rain Doesn’t Dampen Prom
The class of ‘22 has had many ups and downs, and prom was another event for seniors to add to the books.
The whole day of the event, Saturday, May 7, it rained, but the seniors made sure to not let that get in the way of all the special memories that would be made that night.
They arrived with matching umbrellas, coats, and comfy shoes to combat the weather.
This was the first prom for Dallastown since 2019, due to the COVID pandemic, and the second year for it to be held at the Wisehaven Events Center from 5-9 p.m.
The night was filled with pictures, fashion, food, and a whole lot of dancing.
Trends of the night included sparkles, longer, more fitted styles, slits, and lot of sneakers.
The event began with the seniors and their guests getting photos right as they walked in and then heading to find a seat in the dining hall.
After a while, the large buffet was open to all and the dancing commenced.
Wisehaven Events Center catered the food for the event
The menu consisted of baked ham with sweet crushed pineapple, chicken parmesan, three baked pasta, baked potato with sour cream and chives, seasoned vegetable medley, salad, baked rolls and butter, and a dessert bar with chocolate/vanilla cake, cookies, cheesecake cubes, cream puffs, and brownies.
Drinks like soda, iced tea, and lemonade were served as well.
Following the dance was a post-prom party which was organized by the senior parents.
It was held from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. and 58 students attended the post-party.
One of the big things during the post-party was the raffle. There were prizes like electric toothbrushes, 40-inch TVs, Beats headphones, Apple Watches, and iPads, as well as a grill and a Lululemon backpack.
Without help from Mrs. Tina French (Senior Class Advisor), Christian Paschke, Maggie Wolfsheimer, Taylor Calloway, and Sashi Nallapati, (Senior Class Officers), none of this could have been possible.
