Every year, The Beacon asks seniors to vote on who they think is most likely to do or become something. They were chosen because they demonstrate the abilities it takes to accomplish these things.

 

These people are some of the kindest people in the senior class. They were chosen because they can put a smile on anyone’s face with their bright personality.

How do you brighten people’s day? 

Olivia: “I try my best to make them smile and laugh. I also love to say funny jokes and to give big hugs.”

Ethan: “I make them laugh.”

Lauren: “I think it just makes me feel good when other people feel good.”

Owen: “I just try to find the best in every situation.”

Paige: “I try to be nice to everyone and compliment them.”

 

You may see these students walk the halls of Dallastown again someday, but not as a student. Most of these seniors have future plans that include attending college and studying to become an educator.

There are no fears of flying with this group. These seniors were chosen because they are ambitious to travel and see the many wonders of the world.

What is your favorite place you’ve ever traveled and your dream travel destination? 

Francesca: Thailand is her favorite, and an African safari is her dream destination.

Joao: Rome, Italy is his favorite, and Santorini, Greece is where he’d like to visit.

Brannigan: The Florida Keys is her favorite, and Tahiti is her dream.

Molly: Peru is her favorite, and she would love to travel to Australia.

Sophia: Taormina, Italy is her favorite, and she hopes to travel to Greece.

 

Mr. Mohar and Mrs. Anderson definitely prepared these students well. Someday, they may write your new favorite book.

Who would you thank in your Academy Award Speech? 

Nigel: “Friends, family, teachers. Mrs. McCleary, Mr. Buer and Mr. Kalizak for helping me with my music and Miss Gable for teaching me Public Speaking.”

CJ: “My mom and my grandma.”

Ellie: “My older sister Marin.”

Maddie: “Nigel Christopher Joseph. And my family. And my dogs.”

Ally: “Mr. Klinedinst for helping me find my passion in film. My friends and family for their support. And whoever helped to create the piece that I am winning for.”

 

When it came to Mr. Koon’s questions of the day, these students always had the answer. Hopefully, they have their “What is…” line down.

How will you change the world?

Sequina: “Work with the education system working for more school funding, especially for poorer areas. Helping teachers have higher pay.”

Anand: “Establish clinics that are accessible to populations currently without proper access to medical care.

Sashi: “Devote more time to community service in places like food banks and hospitals.”

Olivia: “Making the world more inclusive to those with special needs.”

Michaela: “Continue to help those in my local community, feed those who are hungry, donate my clothes, and clean up local parks. I also hope to work in modern medicine, specially genetics, so I may be able to change the world in that. “

 

While some may have already found their match, these seniors are the ones that the Class of 2022 thinks they might see when turning on a romantic reality TV show.

Ben: “I promise to work together with both sides and political parties to make the best America possible. And make Anad Patel my Chief of Staff.”

Christian: “I promise to get rid of all stop signs.”

Titus:”I promise to try to live up to the ideals that this country said it had, and to build a free and equal society.”

Adam: “I promise to repeal the 17th Amendment.”

Ryan: “No taxes.”

Most of these seniors stayed dedicated to the JROTC program all through high school, even with all the yelling from Major White.

Michaela: Attending The Citadel (military college) in South Carolina
