Fashion in school is always changing, it’s all for the most part one big cycle. What students wear currently will be completely different 5 years from now.
Lately, today’s fashion in school caters to more comfortwear. Students want to be comfortable when they are getting an education, which is why oversized hoodies and sweatpants are so common.
When a new fashion trend is shown on a social media app like TikTok or Instagram, it doesn’t take long for it to make it into the halls of Dallastown.
White Fox, an Australian based brand, have been filling the halls with their hoodies, with almost every woman wearing one. The puff print design and premium material they used are factors that interested the majority of students.
Owners of this hoodie highlight the comfortability and the overall aesthetic of it.
Senior Victoria Ruane, says that this hoodie has features the average hoodie doesn’t.
“It’s a lot thicker and feels overall better quality than other hoodies” Ruane said, “The graphics are my favorite part of the hoodie.”
Although the hoodie may be what’s trending now, the White Fox brand itself has been around for some time, originating in 2013. Founded by brothers Georgia and Daniel Contos, the brand has been creating a fanbase, and growing year-on-year.
Fashion trends in school can usually come and go based on factors like seasonal changes, social media influence, and overall relevance. The comfortability of the White Fox hoodie, and the widespread popularity the hoodie holds, can play a major part on the hoodie being there to stay.
Sarah-Divine Amani, a junior, thinks that the brand rightfully deserves its recognition for the hoodie.
“It’s one of those brands that’s worth the hype, and I feel it’s rightfully popular” Amani said, “Some brands people like because it’s trending but I feel like this one is the other way around.”

Compared to other brands, White Fox’s sleek design, eye catching logo placements, and bold branding is what sticks out to students. The balance between comfort and stylish is why the hoodies have been trending.
The hoodies are also extremely durable.
Senior Campbell O’Neill claims that its ability to last long is why they are so loved.
“I feel like the quality and durability and comfort of the hoodie is why it’s so popular in the school,” O’Neill said.
White Fox hoodies can also be worn year round.
With its breathable, lightweight material, they’re able to be layered during colder months or worn on their own during the breezy warmer months. However, because of the thickness of the hoodie, thinner clothes should be worn to prevent overheating. O’neill also says that the hoodie can be worn regardless of the season, just with precaution in the hotter months.
“I feel like you can wear it anytime throughout the year but you just have to have shorts on when it’s hot out” O’Neill says.
As popular as the White Fox hoodie is for its thick, high-quality fabric, and stylish designs, it’s not exactly a rush to buy one for people in school. Despite its appeal, some students are being deterred by its hefty price tag, which compared to other options can be steep.
For those on a budget, the cost can be difficult to justify, even with the comfort and brand prestige it offers.
While it may be a favorite in the halls of Dallastown, there are others that are opting in for a more affordable look that can still offer style without having to break the bank.
Julie Cioffi, a senior, claims that the hoodie’s price range is too high, and there are better hoodie options available that are half the price of a White Fox Hoodie.
“I personally do not think it’s worth rushing to buy one” Cioffi says, “Yes the material is amazing and the designs are very well put together, but I believe that you can find a hoodie that is just as good if not better than the White Fox hoodies, and for half its price.”
It’s no telling how long this trend will last, considering that fashion comes and goes within the halls of school, but White Fox hoodies have made an impact that has the potential to be strong enough to make it a brand to stay within the halls of Dallastown.
