Mr. Thoman, Health and PE Teacher, also heads the Health and Physical Education Department.

Health & PE-Greg Thoman

Greg Thoman is the Department Chair for both Health and Physical Education teachers and has only held the position for about two years, since Mrs. McKinney retired.

He was a natural fit since he teaches both health and PE classes.

Thoman explained, “I just help the phys ed programs, help with scheduling, ordering supplies at the end of the year, and just make sure everyone’s running smoothly. ”

He also elaborated on his favorite job as department head, “The scheduling is fun.  For Phys Ed it’s kind of a puzzle.  You have to figure out what classes fit together and as a department you have to kinda set yourself up to help out other staff, so I’m trying to help them by showing them different ways of doing stuff to incorporate into class.”

While there are many chores that go along with being a department head, Thoman feels that it is relatively simple and is glad to do the job.

“I feel like it really just comes down to making sure everything’s working properly within the department.”
