Mini-THON was very greatful that the Four Diamonds families were able to attend the main event this year. Pictured here three of our Family Relations committee members are hanging out with our Four Diamonds families.

Family Relations Committee

We want to make the Four Diamonds families feel special and loved by the Dallastown community. This committee dedicates their time to build personal relationships with our families.

The Family relations committee is run by Mrs. Huyett, Mrs. Lyons, and Mrs. Morring. Their main job is to be in contact with our Four Diamonds families all year long.

Four Diamonds families are those who are affected by pediatric cancer and are sponsored by the Four Diamonds organization.

The committee often does multiple different activities with them like getting ice cream, bowling, celebrating birthdays/holidays, and delivering baskets each month filled with goodies the families can enjoy.

Then on the night of the event, these committee members hang out with the Four Diamonds families, making them feel welcome and having fun enjoying the variety of activities offered.

The hardest aspect of their job is to make sure to plan events that work with the Four Diamonds family’s schedules.

Senior Taylor Calloway has been a part of this committee for three years. She joined Mini-THON because she has heard only good things about the organization and she thought it was special to be a part of.

Calloway specifically wanted to join Family Relations because she wanted to be in close contact with the families and hopefully develop a personal relationship.

If you’re someone who would like to participate in activities outside of school and get to know the people behind why Dallastown has a Mini-THON then the Family Relations Committee would love to have you.
