Senior Amber Leader intends on majoring in film after graduation.

While she has always enjoyed watching films, her real interest in filmmaking grew after taking Video I her freshman year.

“My sister, Avery, who now works on film sets, recommended the course to me. After being in the course my interest in filmmaking only grew,” said Leader.

Since then, she has taken Video II, Video III, and is currently taking Video IV and Independent study.

“In Independent study you have a lot of freedom when it comes to picking what you’ll submit. You can work on multiple projects to practice things like editing, effects, and graphics, or you can plan short films, morning show segments, etc. I’m currently working on a short film I plan to enter in the Spring Shorts competition.”

After college, Leader plans to become a film producer or screenwriter, hoping to bring a story to the big screen
