Charts, spreadsheets, data tables; while many students despise the task of compiling and analyzing numbers, senior Riley Danielowski can’t get enough of it.
Danielowski has been taking economics courses at Dallastown since her sophomore year, and plans on continuing her study by majoring in the subject in college.
“My love for my major began when I decided to take AP Microeconomics in my sophomore year after taking Intro to Business because I wanted to learn more about the interaction of business markets,” she said.
However, figuring out her career path wasn’t always easy for Danielowski.
“I struggled with choosing which major to pursue in college when I first entered high school because I thought my only options were either STEM or the liberal arts, but neither of them really stuck out to me as a future career path,” Danielowski said.
Economics is her “perfect blend” of the social science category, as it incorporates her favorite aspects from history, government, and business classes.
Economics offers Danielowski many opportunities to strive for an array of careers.
“I like that economics gives me a wide variety of career options to choose from. Especially because I’m interested in obtaining my MBA or going to law school,” she said.
While the subject of economics may seem daunting to some, Danielowski advises to look over class notes as a small way to prepare and motivate oneself for the upcoming day.
