It’s no secret that Dallastown goes all out for high school dances. From the extraordinary dresses to the vibrant suits, shoes, and ties, Dallastown is a step above the rest.

Even with many dress stores in the area, Renaissance Bridals is a local favorite because of their large selection of unique dresses. Every year, Dallastown girls flock to Renaissance to find the perfect dress.

This year, Renaissance Bridals decided to implement a new program into their store by using promoters called  RenReps.

RenReps, a select group of 15 senior girls from 15 different schools, will be the face of Renaissance Bridals for the 2019 prom season.

“These girls will be an extension of our store and highly valuable to our social media and marketing campaigns,” owner Jon Smith said.

All RenReps had to go through an application and voting process to become apart of the program. The application consisted of a few questions about each girl.

Senior Brooke Luckenbaugh was chosen to be the RenRep for Dallastown.

“After I submitted my application, I was selected to be apart of the top 40. Then, the top 40 girl’s photos were posted on Instagram,” Luckenbaugh said.  “Votes for the RenReps were determined by the number of likes on each photo. The top 15 photos with the most likes were chosen, with only 1 girl represented per school district.”

Girls from neighboring school districts were chosen, as well as girls from as far away as West Virginia.

With so many schools represented, Luckenbaugh says making friends wasn’t any problem at all.

“I’ve had the opportunity to be able to become good friends with girls from other schools throughout our photoshoots, and getting our makeup done by the Prom Manager at Renaissance, Katie.”

The RenReps participate in photoshoots often, with photos appearing on Instagram for over 12,700 of their followers to see.

RenReps also receive small gifts from Renaissance and from designers.

“We want the girls to feel special, and to feel like they’re a part of something big,” Smith said.

Most recently, the girls received Rachel Allan bags, Kylie Lip Kits, and Mac Makeup Brushes.

Being a RenRep comes with responsibilities on top of all the fun and pampering.

“I am responsible for posting about Renaissance and their dresses at least twice a week on Instagram,” Luckenbaugh said. “I’m also responsible for promoting their business by handing out $50 coupon cards to my classmates.”

Another perk of being a RenRep is having the opportunity to earn money towards a prom dress, and even a chance to win a free dress, based upon how many buyers each RenRep brings into the store.

“My favorite thing about the RenRep program so far is being able to be myself around the girls and being able to dress up with them and take amazing pictures with beautiful dresses on. It truly has been such a fun time so far!” Luckenbaugh said. “I want juniors at Dallastown to know how fun this program is, and that I encourage them to try it out next year as seniors.”
