The Dallastown Girls’ Varsity Basketball Team is coached by Molly Day, and this was her first season coaching the team after Mr. Rexroth stepped down from the position to coach at the college level. She has had great success as a new coach, and has worked with the players to help them succeed both personally and as a cohesive team. The Girls’ Basketball program has always been known to be successful, but this year, the girls truly made history as District Runner-Ups, even making it to the State Championship, something that this team had never accomplished before. These girls played an extremely important role in the success of the 2025-2026 season, and will be greatly missed by their coaches and teammates (@dtgirlsbball and photo taken by @gametimepa).

On January 2nd, the team hosted an alumni night, where the alumni of the Dallastown Girls’ and Boys’ Basketball programs came to support the current Girls’ team during their game against Penn Manor (@dtgirlsbball).

Also in January, senior Ava Jamison hit two important milestones: her 100th career 3-pointer and her 1,000th career point! In the photo, Ava and her teammates are posing with “100” balloons (@dtgirlsbball).

January 28th was Teacher Appreciation Night for girls’ basketball and basketball cheerleading seniors, and it was also a winning game for the girls against Northeastern. Teachers were recognized for their support towards these student athletes with gifts and a public recognition ceremony at the game (@dtgirlsbball).

On February 2nd, seniors were also celebrated with Senior Night during their game against Susquehanna Township. Seniors and their parents were recognized for their hard work and dedication to the program over the last four years before the game (@dtgirlsbball and photos from Zimere Martin).

During their winning game against Central York, the team also hosted a Youth Night. Young fans could come and get autographs from the players, and some of the proceeds from the game were given to Mini-THON (@dtgirlsbball).

After their regular-season success, these girls went on to Counties and Districts in the postseason. They advanced all the way to the district championship and became District Runner-Ups, and in this photo, they’re posing with their District Runner-Up medals. The District Championship game also gave the girls a bid to States! (@dtgirlsbball and @dallastownathletics).

After making it through several rounds of States, the girls are finally headed to the State Championship at the Giant Center Stadium in Hershey. Dallastown students took a fan bus to the stadium to support the team and to give them a loud student section. The State Championship game took place on March 20th against Upper Dublin (@dtgirlsbball and photo from @gametimepa).

Unfortunately, the girls battled hard but lost the state championship 54-33. Even though they didn’t win, these girls still made history as the first Dallastown Girls’ Basketball team to ever make it to the State Championship. These girls should be proud of all that they accomplished this season and all of the hard work they put in, and Dallastown is excited to see what they do in the future!
