Starting with spirit days and ending with the dance, Dallastown’s students participate in a week’s worth of activities. All in preparation for their annual Homecoming, the student council works tirelessly to bring the magic of an Enchanted Forest to life.

Spirit Days

Dallastown’s students and staff came together to show off their school spirit in the days counting down to Homecoming.

Day 1: Great Outdoors

Students and staff were told to dress in floral patterns or cameo to be reminded of nature, all while linking back to our Homecoming theme: Enchanted Forest.

Day 2: Jersey Day

In honor of the powder puff game, happening later that night, Wildcats wore their favorite jersey, representing different teams, players, and sports.

Day 3: Country vs. Country Club

From tennis skirts and sweaters to jeans and flannels. The two sides battled back in forth in the hallways of Dallastown.

Day 4: School Colors

Showing their school pride, students and staff wore blue and white or Dallastown apparel in preparation for the Homecoming game.

Day 5: HOCO Recovery

After a long week of Homecoming events, the comfy clothes came out as the Wildcats enjoyed their last spirit day, heading back into their routine.

Look below to see what students wore on the spirit days!

Powder Puff

The 2023 Powder Puff game took place on a Wednesday as many students and family members came in attendance to help raise money for Mini-THON.

As the the day got dark, upper and underclassmen teams took the field, and the new cheerleaders took the sideline.

The upperclassman team was the first to score in the game and was consistent throughout the first half. That didn’t stop the underclassman from fighting back and making it a close game.

At halftime, the cheerleaders took front and center stage for their halftime performance.

When the second half approached, both teams stayed steady throughout the game, but in the end, the upperclassman came out on top with a 24-18 victory.

Homecoming Game

On Friday, Oct. 13, the Wildcats face the South Western Mustangs resulting in a 51-13 victory.

Before the game began, the Homecoming court was recognized, along with their parents, by walking across the field at the 50-yard line.

The Wildcats came out strong in the first half leading up to the exciting news of who would be announced as the Homecoming king and queen.

During halftime, Dallastown Stadium congratulated Kiersten Kessler and Ja’Kai Brown on being crowned.

In the second half of the game, Dallastown stayed consistent to give them their 3rd win of the season.

Student Council set up the 2023 Homecoming dance on the morning of Oct. 14 to make the school look like an enchanted forest.
Homecoming Dance

The dance was held on Saturday, Oct. 14, in the high school’s main gym. There was dancing, a photo booth, snacks, and drinks that students could enjoy.

This year’s dance was a recording break one, with the most amount of students and guests attending.

With around 1400 students, the night was filled with laughter, dancing, and excitement.

As the night winded down for some students, others were just getting theirs started.

The theatres were also filled with Dallastown students, as many watched the premiere of the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour film.

Overall, it was another successful Homecoming evening. A big thanks to student council for setting up all the decorations and making it an amazing night for the Dallastown students.
