Michaela Long, is a 18 year old senior at Dallastown High School. This will be her second year on staff for the Beacon. Outside of school Long is a competitive dancer, a dance teacher, and enjoys traveling to meet new people and discover new cultures. In school she is Student Council President, head of the special events and fundraising committee for Mini-THON, and a club member of Leo club, Health STAT, and Interact club. Michaela plans to attend Virginia Tech for psychology and some of her favorite stories to write are feature and news stories.

Spring Shorts is a fundraiser for the TV production club at the high school. They use the money to help pay for their annual STN convention where schools from all over the country get together to go to workshops and learn more about film and broadcast journalism.
